A Licensed Professional Counselor means an individual licensed to engage in the practice of counseling. A LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Board Certified Counselor.

To become a LPC, you must have a bachelor’s degree and then complete graduate school and earn a Master’s Degree in Counseling. Once graduate school has been completed a counselor must complete 2 years of supervised counseling work experience as a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) by a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Michigan Licensed Professional Counselors have training in the following areas:

  • counseling techniques
