Here are a few questions that are typically asked about counseling.


What is a LPC and NCC?

A LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor. This is a fully licensed therapist in Michigan that may provide counseling and mental health services to individuals and couples. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.

A NCC is a National Certified Counselor. Being a National Certified Counselor means I am a Board Certified Counselor.


Do you take insurance?

Yes, I take some insurances. I will verify your insurance before scheduling any appointment.


I'm in a crisis, what should I do?

If you are in a mental health crisis and thinking about suicide, please call 911 or visit the nearest hospital emergency room. Non-life threatening crisis can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifelife at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).


How long is counseling?

Counseling appointments are 45-50 minutes, once a week.


How do I prepare for my first appointment?

Where are you located?

My office is located at Great Lakes Psychology Group in Grand Blanc, Michigan. I provide all individual and couples counseling as an independent contractor with this awesome group.


What is your late cancellation & no show policy?

This policy has been established in effort to provide quality, timely, and appropriate mental health services to all clients. Consistent attendance provides the greatest opportunity for success with your mental health treatment. Providing timely notice to your therapist will allow others who are waiting for an appointment to be scheduled. When appointments are cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, the therapist is not able to offer that appointment time to other clients.

Clients are required to contact the therapist with at least 24 hour notice prior to scheduled appointment if unable to attend. Failure to provide at least 24 hours notice of cancellation or a no show to an appointment will result in a $50 late cancellation or no show fee that is due at the start of the next appointment. Emergencies and illness may arise making 24 hour notice not always possible. This will be taken into consideration by the therapist. Please provide the exact amount requested in cash as no change is available.
